Grasshoppers anyone???

Boyd took Jonah and Hudson to the Father and Sons campout this year (with Grandpa) at North Fork. The boys entertained themselves the ENTIRE time with all of the grasshoppers. Their fascination with these delightful insects was only fueled with Dad's story of eating one when he was younger. Apparently, this scored lots of points with these young impressionable boys. I'm sure they would have ate one themselves but he had the good sense to tell them it was absolutely disgusting!
That was in early August and ever since they have been searching our yard (and the surrounding ones) for more grasshoppers. When they finally find one, they wear it right out, and unfortunately it loses it's strength to escape. Hence the pictures with the grasshopper just sitting there on their faces and clothing! Not surprisingly, Emma and Gracie are in on the action too. Boyd took these pictures at the campout and while I was fixing dinner, thanks hon!

That sounds like our house! Broden and Caden are always out searching for grasshoppers and all sorts of other gross creatures. Geckos are another favorite. Luckily nobody at our house has eaten any yet.

Gross! Your kids are daring! I have a fear of grasshoppers, maybe because my brothers would freeze them in the ice cube trays and then put them in my drinks. I can't believe Emma has one on her face!

Your kids would love my house, we have been invaded by grasshoppers! They are everywhere. So glad to hear all is well at the Stewart house!

That is disgusting! I can't believe Boyd gave us a hard time for having snakes in our yard and is encouraging this stuff! Bonnie said she got to see you guys - I'm jealous. She also said that Boyd has some input on my spinning playlist. I'm waiting Boyd!!! We miss you guys. The kids are darling.

The kids are so brave! I don't like bugs and they don't like me.
