Nana was so nice to make us a banana cream pie for Emma's birthday. We decided to eat it together outside. As you can see it was a big hit, especially for Sammy.
Emma started 3rd grade today and Jonah started 1st. They were both so excited to get back to school.Hudson, the little man, started Kindergarten today as well.

We celebrated Emma's birthday on Sunday with the cousins, it was fun to see all of those boys playing together.

Last weekend we had the father and sons camp out. Jonah slept in until 9:30. I was surprised that he got up that late, he is always up early at home. Maybe it's because he shares a room with Hudson and Sammy, who aren't the best roommates for a sleepyhead.

Happy Birthday Emma!

Emma turned 8 and got the three things she wanted most: Her ears pierced,
this weird annoying duck,

and to ride a horse.
Happy Birthday Bow-Bemma!

What should we do?

Let it grow long or keep it short? I will not say what Shelly wants, because most of you would automatically side with her.

The not so Great Salt Lake

Hudson lost the training wheels yesterday and has not wanted to get off his bike since. I don't think there are many things cuter than a kid riding on a tiny bike. Their legs just churn and churn and they don't go very fast because the bike cranks are so small.

My brother came into town with his family to visit last week. We decided to take the kids out to the Great Salt Lake. The kids had a ball, but it was pretty hard for the adults. It was hot, there was no shade, and if you look really hard you can see the lake behind this picture of Sammy. Yeah it was quite a walk in the sand to get to the water.

Once you get to the water, you find the brine flies. The picture below doesn't give the image justice, but here is Jonah running through the brine flies and they are swarming away. Looking at his feet, it looks like sand is getting kicked up, but it is the brine flies.

Gracie loves the big pit in the backyard. We are putting in a sandbox, but I think Gracie prefers the Mudbox.

We'll see you later.
