Like so many people out there I am trying to eat better and exercise with the new year. I tried to run after Gracie was born but got so discouraged because I could only jog for about 1 minute without getting seriously winded. Of course Boyd stepped on the treadmill and ran for a full hour! So...I kind of gave up. Well, now I'm starting small mostly power walking and jogging a few minutes here and there for only 30 min. a day. I know it sounds small but hey, I have to start somewhere. It's amazing how I already feel better. I have increased my incline and time to 35 minutes and I already feel stronger.
The other day Boyd and I had to get our fingerprints done in Salt Lake and be there at 8:00 a.m. so I didn't exercise that day. The next day, I was determined to make up for it and really pushed myself. Well, after I stepped off the treadmill I could barely walk. I had to sit on the couch, luckily only a few steps away for 30 min. My legs were like jello. Hopefully, this time next year I will be healthier and on the road to a better me!

Good for you Shelly! A couple of my girlfriends and I are doing the Coach to 5k on www.coolrunning.com It's a great little running program that helps you go from running not at all to running a 5k at the end of 10 weeks.

go sis!!! I have a cd of workout jams that I am going to send you... you probably won't like 1/2 of them but hey?!> they might motivate ya! I am going to start back working out on Mon. so I am going to be feeling the burn. I have been a total slacker!
